TIMING ENQUIRIES 2025

Please find below every single timing enquiry we have had this year and the reasons why we have had these.

If you are or have ever been a Race Director you will recognise the below numbers are exceptional.

If you are not a Race Director for context I ran in a Half Marathon in the summer timed by another company and I finished 5th out of 342 runners upon checking the results a few days later I was then 5th out of 348 runner so they had missed 6 runners in 1 Small Half.

The Biggest race I timed was Freelancing for Nice Work Race Management Company at the Hastings Half as there head timer was on Holiday and that was there biggest race of the year. That race went onto win mid-size race of the Year at the Running Industry Alliance Awards.

  1. Wickersley 10k (2 Enquiries) – A man was given the wrong race number so a very quick fix. The second enquiry a lady ran with a bum bag as she forgot safety pins and completely blocked the timing chip.
  2. Heroes 10k (1 Enquiry), a gentleman was not on the results, he was wearing a re-usable timing chip and had run across start lines / lap points and the finish but not been seen anywhere, very strange.
  3.  Ferrymeadows (1 Enquiry) A man was given the wrong race number so very quick fix to start list and re-upload results 5 second fix.
  4. British Quad Champs (2 Enquiries) The system missed a couple of lap points, turns out upon investigation this was down to a broken cable thus lowering the read rates as 1 x mat wasn’t properly reading.
  5. Laxton 10k (1 Enquiry) My mate Rod was missed at the finish, I would hazard a guess my second line could have been another 1 foot back however there isnt the space to accomodate this
  6. Newstead Abbey Dash (1 Enquiry) Incorrect age, easy fix
  7. Sandall Beat Trail (1 Enquiry) Hadnt put club on when entering, easy fix.
  8. Blackleach Trail Race (1 Enquiry) Not in the results as hadnt been assigned to a race very easy fix.
  9. Newcastle 10k (1 Enquiry) Incorrect Club easy fix
  10. DonFaster 5k (1 Enquiry) 1 gentleman was missed at the lap point 1 x time so when he finished that read was assigned by the system to the lap point. I normally would have noticed this at the race but the weather conditions where the 2nd worst I have ever timed in. (Torrential Rain and Wind, Could have the finish arch up and loads of prizes to work out).
  11. CSAA XC Champs (1 Enquiry) An older gentleman wasnt sure how to wear his timing chip so he didnt wear it.
